Dear Sir
I wrote you about two months ago
asking you to look after some business for
me. In fear this letter may not have reached
you I will repeat some of the facts again.
I do not know if you will remember me
but I was in your office I think it was during
the year 1878 whilst James Edwards & Mr Edwin
Best were in there. Soon after leaving you I came
to the United States & have been here ever since.
With this introduction I will give you the facts
which I wish you look after for me -
My grandfather John Davidson lived in the County
of Tyrone about three & one half miles from Dungannon
I think on the Lisgallen road. he died I think
sometime in 1879 I wish you to find out if
he left any property & and if I have any right to
it or any part. I think he owned the property
upon which he lived I do not know the number
of acres of land - but there was a valuable water
power & small mill (flax) on it together with
a dwelling house & other out buildings
I went to see him just before leaving and
found a nephew of his James Taylor living
with him, it may be possible that he left
the property to him or perhaps Taylor is just
living there on the property
I have written to you because I feel that
you would take some new interest in this
matter having known me as a boy & that if
there is any property there for me that you
will do all you can towards obtaining it
for me.
I hope your health has continued good also
that your family enjoys the same.
Please let me hear from you as soon as
possible and what you think of my case
With kindest regards for yourself & family
very respectfully yours
Robert James Davidson
