Dear Sir

The bearer Mr Foster is
an English gentleman of great
respectability & enlarged benevolence.
He is now going west as
the agent of one of our societies to
make arrangements for the transportation
of destitute & respectable
females to the agricultural district
where they can get employment.
He will want, of course
to be authenticated among your
neighbors.
Therefore I take the liberty of
introducing him to you, of commending
his charity to your favorable regards
& to ask of you the kindness to make
him known among your acquaintance
as one worthy of their confidence

I am very Respctly [Respectfully?]

Yours &c
J W Edmond
[Advisor?]

Gen [General?] Jacob Gould
