From:
L.pool [Liverpool?] 10 April 1847

Dear William,
I am glad to have so
gratifying an acct [account?] from you of your Food
business at [Derrylavan?], & trust the spring
labour being brisk causes the diminution.
I shall attend to your people
coming tomorrow which with great dif
-ficulty [difficulty?] I have been enabled to secure Room
for - Such is the fact that there is not
this day one ship open for either New York,
Boston, New Orleans, or Quebec, all being
filled up at extraordinary rates, and
the Numbers pourring [pouring?] in off every Boat
beyond description. Please hold
back any others till [until?] towards the 25th Inst [Instant?]
on till [until?] I can advise satisfactorily.
I really have not time to
thank you in proper terms for all the
pains taking [painstaking?] you are at on those occasions
but will try to do it personally
first opportunity after the bustle
is over.
Most truly yours
Thos [Thomas?] Elliott

Mr W.G. Smith
