Transcript | 5th December 1930 Mrs. Tom Faulkner1930 c/o Mr. O. Coon Elgin R. R .2 Ontario Canada Dear Mrs Lewis I am dropping you a few lines as promised. & apologised for not having written to you sooner. I hope Grannie McGill, as Florence here calls her; is well & all the rest at home. We are all doing fine here. Florence is going to school every day; & Tom still working away, We are having cold weather here; no matter where you look, you see nothing only the ground white with snow. I may tell you it is very cold here some days in the winter. By the way what about your big son Norman what part of Canada is he in, or has he gone home. I have met with quite a lot of Scotch people & Irish people here & they are all doing well. We like Canada well & getting along fine. we are a year & a half here. We have a nice comfortable home, & we have bought a motor car now. & we can go where we like, we go away on Sundays for a drive. Tom can drive her well. We are working with a farmer we have a free house free fire wood free garden free light & free milk as much as we could use, & Tom has 10 pounds a month. Well Mrs Lewis I must hurry with the dinner, as Tom is nearly home for his dinner. excuse this short scribble. Will write you longer letter the next time. Now please tell Maggie to reply my letter as she will be able to write me a long letter with lots of news, for you know I still love to hear from dear old Ireland.
