December 29th 1875

Dear sister
I received your kind and welcome letter which gives
me great pleasure to hear from yous all. We are all well
thanks to God at present but the reason for me not
answering your last letter I was very unwell this last 3
years. I was anointed three times and I was waiting to see
if I would get strong. I want yous to mind me in your
prayers. I am able to walk about but I am not very strong.
Brother Hugh is well, brother Patrick, wife and family is
well. Sister Ellen, husband and family is well. Sister
Margery, Tommy and wife and daughter is well. He buried
his son about 2 weeks ago. He was 2 years old. All friends
is well.

This was a good summer,the best we hasd this [long time?].
Potatoes and corn is very good price. All kinds of markets is
good. Ireland is very good at present. I send my love to you
and Ann and Hannah and Joseph and I hope he will be a good
boy and be good to his mother and sisters.

I send my love to brother Manis, wife and family, to
sister Nancy, husband and family, and to sister Hannah and
to John McGuhan and family and to Mrs Downey. So, no
more at present I remain dear sister your affectionate
brother to death, Thomas Gallagher.

Dear Cousins I write to you these fiew [few?] lines
to let you know we're all well and is glad to hear of you
been well. Sister Catherine, husband and son and daughter
is well. Nancy is well. We are thankful to Joseph for
sending uo his likeness. It is a very nice likeness, we
all think he is a Gallagher.

Dear cousins, I have got married on the 11th of November
[1875?] to Michael Huston of Meenbane, Nancy Patton [McCall
/ they call?] his mother. We lived near each other, always.
Sister Catherine was with us at Mullieve [Hullieve?] and
took her with me and told nobody else til [until?] it was
over, but they all came to be content enough now. Aunt
Margi's well and is able to spin. Let we all join in sending
you our love. I remain your affectionate cousin, Mary
Gallagher. Write soon.

Mary Gallagher, born 1849 or 1850, died 30 March 1919 (age 69),
married to Michael Huston, died 24 June 1921 (age 83).

Nancy Gallagher, born 1818, died 1891, married John Jones
(County Wicklow), died 1887. Their children were :
Mary Jane, born 18 May 1853, died 24 Nov 1934, married Joseph
Ginder (no children).
John, born 1865, died 1913, married Mary Ann Murphy. Seven
children : Nellie, Florence, Frank, Katie, Victor, Marie,
Lorene.
Anna, born 1858, died 1928, married James Donahue. Their
children : Mary Ann, Ella, John, Elizabeth.
William, born 1859, died 1955, married Maggie McCauley.
Their children : Deplhinia, Euphronius, Camilla.
Ellen, born 1860, died 1882, married William Kellett. One
son born in 1882.
