| Transcript | Aprial [April?] 28 1878 dear Mother iwrite [I write?] to you once More as i have wrote before and got no answer but i got a letter from brother james yesterday and i got your adress [address?] and i thought i would write once More well we are all in Midling [middling?] health at present only My wife and she has had but poor health for three ot four years but she is some better now well Mother you must be very frail now if you are alive i thought once this spring that iwould [I would?] see you in the fall but i am a fraid [afraid?] i can not move as the Company will not pay us our Money the [they?] say the [they?] are not Able but the [-------?] is holding possesion of the [-----?] well what the [they?] owe Me is about 50 pounds and if i could have got it i would have tried and went home we May get some of it yet but there is no certanty [certainty?] of it this is avery [a very?] poor place now as there is no work a doing now as all things [-------?] be at a stand still james has good weather at present but he is not working any yet he says he [----?] son [soon ?] as Maney [many?] idle Men in sanfrancisco [San Francisco?] as at present let Me know if you know any thing of any of abels family as i would like to hear from some of them well mother i bid you Good by [bye?] hoping to hear from you soon dear Cousin sara if Mother is dead and gone i hope you or some of My Cousins will answer these few lines as iwould [I would?] like to hear from you all i hope all My friends are all in good health and having the blessing of god with them william and family are well and he has Married his third wife My son aubren was Married at last [Christmas?] well here is My adres [address?] for Malcom [Malcolm ?] Gamble at George Charlotte County near [Cunneuy ?] America |
