Dear Cousin
In answer to
your letter which I received
in due time and was
glad from you I hope you
will excuse me for not writing
sooner I had a letter wrote
last week but when I went
to look for William Hayes
address I could not get it
but I have it now I think
your own ones sent Barbara
McKernans address I see
by your letter you have a
fine time of it over there
I think them that is at home
has not so good fun Anyway
you get lots of parties I
think the young people must
be very agreeable over there

[Page 2]
I am sure it is nice to [sic]
sleighing through the snow
this has been a very severe
winter here the labour is
very far back yet and it
looks like a storm of snow
again I suppose you
like to be working with
the horses you can take
such loads on the sleigh
The Glensass parthers will
be all for Omagh again
monday if it does not be
settled this time I think they
will soon get tired of it they
are out such a lot of money
with it I saw your Uncles
house it looks very nice it
surely cost a good deal to
put it up I saw your Cousin
Annie and her Husbands pictures
and I think they are a very
nice young couple

[Page 3]
I have no notion of going
on the force now I am
thinking about going to
America soon the next letter
I send you I will be
able to give you more
news Jeramiah [Jeremiah?]
Reid has bought a house below
straburn he is going down to it
today it is a public house
and he is taking Liza Orr
with him there is some
talk about them going to
get married I suppose the
weather is cold there yet
it is cold enough here
and I am sure it is worse
over there I hear Willie
John Duncan is going over
there this Summer Old
Margaret Duncan is dead she
did not make any will they
will have some law about it

[Page 4]
the Hustons [Houston?] thought
that they would have it all to
themselves but they will
not and that is a great
mistake but it is the price
of them. Cattle and sheep
is a very bad price now and
Hay and Straw is very dear
we are all well here at present
I have no more to tell you now
But remains your loving Cousin
William Gilkison [Gilkinson?]
