Castledamph
December 22nd 1891

Dear Cousin
I am glad to tell
you that we are all well here
at present with the exceptions
of Uncle James's wife and she
is very ill she is lying this
three weeks They have to sit
up with her at night we
have very nice weather here
at present there is some
frost here these these (sic) last
two days and it looks like
snow I think we will
have a white Christmas
it is not very cold here
this winter yet. but I
suppose it is cold enough
with you by this time
We had a Soiree in Eden
Meeting on Thursday night
last and it was a very
good one There was about
180 tickets sold and they
have five pounds of savings
I suppose you are doing
well I think you have
done well in engaging
for this year with your
Uncle and I believe you are
getting good pay I am sure
the work will not be very
easy but you would work
a long time here before
you would have 25 pounds
I suppose Sarah Anne is
not there now Your Uncle
must have a very nice
house it looks so very
nice in the pictures It
surely took a lot of money to
put it up it must be very
nice in the inside I suppose
the frost is very hard there
in the winter I am sure
there is not much work can
be done outside now you
have got over thinking about
home by this time I have no more
to say at present
But remains your loving Cousin

William Gilkison
