Transcript | Dungannon 2nd Mo. [Month?] 17th 1837 Wm. [William?] Peebles Respected Friend When Saml [Samuel?] Knox was paying the 3rd dividend out of J K Harrington's property on account of the legatees of the late James Heather he deducted 6. 0: 4 1/2 out of it for a Bill of Cost thou had against Jas [James?] Heather Junr. [Junior?] of Montreal the administrator under whom I am acting by power of attorney, by a letter I now have from J H (James Heather objects to this account) he [-----] him not to be due this am [amount?] he mentions having paid them not only for what was done, but what necessarily would have to be done on acct [account?] of Thomas C Wakefields property when he would be gone to America & further that there were stamps to be cancelled, which he was [----?] the amount of, that he never did - of course these things I know nothing of, but merely let them know that I may James Heather objects to this acct. [account?] the particulars of which I furnished him - he mentions that he settled every charge thou made against him respecting J C Wakefield, purchases in persona of his brother William Levern paid them for what was to be done, on that business after he left the country besides paying for stamps [----] been to be cancelled, they amount of which was to be paid to whoever he would authorize but he never let it - Waiting thy reply am respectfully thy serv [servant?] Thomas Greeves |
