Transcript | To: Lytle Black 342 Winchester Avenue, Chicago, U.S.A. Mc Donald Wash [Washington?] Co [County?] pa [Pennsylvania?] 9th Oct [October?] 1889 Dear Lytle, Yours of ths 2nd ult [ultimo?] duly received I was sorry to hear that you had been out of employment for a week but was glad that you had obtained another situation and as you say [stay?] settled for the winter-- Indeed this is the time to be hunting up a winter's job as it is pretty difficult to get anything to do in the dead of winter as everybody who is in any sort of decent employment tries hard to stick to it. I am expecting a letter from home every day as I have not heard from that quarter for a good while now. I am doing all in my power to get a few dollars ahead and will be glad of your help when it arrives. Please excuse this short scribble as I some horses to feed & it is getting late Yours Sincerely John L Hall |
