[Regiment?] Infy [Infantry?] Sandy [Hook?] Care of Mr Hatfield White Hall Ship Little Britain March 4th 1815 My Dear Sammy I received your kind letter of the twenty second last monday in which I was glad to hear of you [your?] good luck in finding your trunk - and likewise Congratulate much with Jr [Junior?] and Mary with their young son and hope it will be your good fortune before long however we must hope for the best now - I wrote to you last week by Morrow he returned a wednesday and today starts for New York again and that affords me another opportunity of writing. He expect [expects?] to leave York [New York?] a [on?] wednesday next for home and if you could see him before then it would be a good opportunity for you to write to your Father. I have no piticular [particular?] news since my last we are all well I think will be soon now, however with my opportunity you have to scheer [cheer?] up those spirts which is very often at a low ebb Morrow is waiting therefore my excuse blunderd [blundered?] Dear farewell yours Mary |
