Transcript | Admiralty 13th April 1822 Sir, I am desired by Lord Melville who is now in Scotland, to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 4th Inst & to state that from a wish to bring forward your Son, his Lordship has added Sir Alexn [Alexander?] C. Dawson's name to the Admiralty List on the North American Station which, though the List is at present in a crowded state, his Lordship trusts will eventually ensure Mr. Dawson's Promotion. The favorable testimony borne by Captain Wise to your Sons' character while serving with him in the Spartan has been placed upon record.
