Pursuant to the instructions of Mr. Hamilton Secy.
[Secretary?] to the Society P.G.F. I have this day drawn
a Bill on you for œ1000, - in favour of A. Crawford Esq.,
of Belfast, - which I hope on receipt you will duly honour.
I suppose you are aware that I have been favoured with an
appointment with the mission on the Grand Lake New Brunswick
at the last meeting of the Society on the 12th of June last,-
and the sum above mentioned was granted to defray the expense
of the voyage. I have agreed for a Passage in a vessel which
is advertised to sail from this Port on the 15th inst. - for
myself and family to convey us to St. Johns New Brunswick.
I request you will communicate to Mr. Hamilton that I have
lost no time in complying with the wishes of the Committee
as I recd. [received?] his letter on the 1st inst. and shall
write to him (Please God). - when my voyage shall have
terminated as it is so very late in the season and but one
vessel at his time sailing for that Port, I am charged at
a very high rate for a cabin passage as my present place of
residence is 32 miles distant, please to send yr [your?] Reply
directed to me to the care of Thomas Craper Esq. Treasury
who will forward it free to my address - if you or Mr.
Hamilton know the distance of the Grand Lake from St. Johns
and whether there may be the possibility of proceeding by water
to my destination. [--?] be object of much interest to me to
be informed of and also at what Periods in future I may be
Entitled to draw on you in future for the annual salary of œ200.
