Transcript | Montreal 1st July 1835 Wellington Street St Anns Suburbs Dear Thomas Rec'd your few lines in Mrs Mc Donalds letter of the 25th of April on the 28th ultimo ultimum to [...?]. Sure you may wonder the cause of the delay after writing many letters to him on the subject and to threaten him with law proceedings he then desired the notes to be sent up to a friend of mine and handed him an order on you and lifted the notes which order I forwarded to you on the 12th of April last through A. Bell & Co. of New York and expect to have it before this reaches you amt [amount?] $30, I expect you have rec'd the last dividend by this time at all events whither [whether?] you have or not let me have the next amt [amount?] after deducting all expenses that comes to my share Bill on London, of course you include the last dividend, if paid, with this past as mentioned in former letter, with a statement, giving me Credit for each share of the expense of Power of Attorney, which I paid here and making each pay their share of all other expenses incurred, for reasons best known to myself I wish the Bill to be here early in August, I hope you have not waited on receiving this letter to remit me, if you have please loose [lose?] no time you can help and send it by the speediest conveyance the usual way, would it not come quicker by way of Liverpool, you immediate attention to this will much oblige of there is any of the expenses you omitted charging the other legales [legals?] with you can keep it out of the last dividend please say how much it will be have you rec'd any papers for me of late let me have some of the latest. I understand the come off free through all the English colonies, was Wm Scott's wife speaking to you of money [which?] was sent through A. Bell & Co. to bring her over to her husband he is uneasy at her not coming or hearing from her I send this with one for Mrs Mc Donald by a vessel going from this port to Belfast. I was sorry to hear of your health being poorly. I expect your trip to the Cove has quite recruited you, change of climate is good, and the Doctor is dead, I heard from a person from Eglish Mr Mc Kaufey[?] died suddenly in Belfast, Mrs Mc Donald mentioned nothing of it, if you have not rec'd and forwarded the last dividend and do receive it in time for the fall Vessels coming from Belfast or Liverpool to Quebec or this port say consigned to John Brown ship handler of Quebec, or my adress here send this amt [amount?] in the best 12 Hundred linnen [linen?] as it comes low at present I hear, to be put in a pitched inside Water tight case, and some child may Sachs v Sachs for my self such as will answer the winter I know you will do your best for me ------- 1st July of Atlas Mr Thomas Greene Dungannon Co Tyrone with speed Ireland say how goods is rating, the [they?] are pretty moderate here I have been often thinking of getting out clothing for me & the children, but not now, if you have time let me hear all the news and what changes in tower remain Dear Thomas Your obliged friend Jas [James?] Heather |
