| Transcript | Dorchester, Mass. [Massachusetts?] Mr. Robert Moore. Dear Sir, I am writing to ask you to do me a favor, as I have no one else upon whom I can rely and that is to sell my place for me. As my family or I would never care to go again, I should like very much to have the value of it here. I feel that perhaps if my sister had not been there and proved herself to be such a nuisance, I would have been able to let since my parents have died [--------?] are now, I received mere nothing from it as the Lynch's have it so cheap, but it is a chance for them if they want to buy it. I have no idea as to its real value, but about twelve years ago when I was in Ireland your father told me then that it was worth a 100 £ [£100?] to me any day. I would hate to have my aunt disturbed while she lives, but of course I do not know about her house, you have in your books as to her claim. I thought that this would be a good time of the year to #PAGE 2 have it auctioned. If I have any repairs made on the house it costs me the double price of them, so I would like very much to sell it before the winter and so I am going to depend upon you as an honest friend to give it to the auctioneers and have him sell at the best possible advantage and them [then?] pay him and yourself and send the remains to me. Sincerely yours, Jane Houghton 37 Millet St. [Street?] Dorchester Mass. [Massachusetts?] Amer [America?] PS. It would be well worth 150 £ [£150?] to the Lynch's as they would have the town to themselves. |
