| Transcript | Jay E. Hunter Stimson Block. Attorney at Law TELEPHONE MAIN 528 Los Angeles, Cal [California?] Aug [August?] 31, 1898 Messrs. Joshua E. Peel & Son, Solicitors, English St., Armagh, Ireland. Gentlemen : - Your favour of Aug 15th to hand, enclosing power of attorney in the estate of Wm. [William?] Beck, deceased. Same was properly signed and acknowledged by Mr. John Beck, in England. Unless your people can give more definite information about the two sisters in Canada, I know of no way of reaching them. Canada is a very large territory and this estate is small, and I doubt if it would justify us to advertise indiscriminately throughout the Dominion of Canada. If, however, I could learn the Province in Canada, the British Consul in Los Angeles (who is a native of Canada, and well acquainted in that country) would no doubt render me valuable assistance. J.E.P. & S. #2 Just as soon as inventory and appraisement is made of the estate, I shall promptly notify you. I remain, Very truly yours, Jay E. Hunter. |
