| Transcript | 194 Oakwood Ave Toronto Ont [Ontario ?] June 5 19/35 Dear Norman -. I really feel I owe you an appoligy [apology ?] as a long time ago Mother asked me to send on the Banner and Observer to you, I couldn't find your address, and when I did get it, the papers must have gotten destroyed for I couldnt find them. This was to tell you of the death of Jack Treavess, which no doubt, will be a great surprise. He had been ailing for some time, and had been to see the Dr. [Doctor?] and of course you know he was worried about the farm, and the way Mr Travise was shoving him. About March first Dr [Doctor?] Ross told them he was afraid it was Cancer of the Liver, and sent him to Guelph for X Ray, and that is what it showed. He came down to Toronto about the 8 of Mar, took some treatments and returned home the fifteenth, And passed away I think on April the 9th you never saw anyone go down so fast, he suffered terribly at times but just went out like a flash. Mr Travise has the farm back on his hands, but Bessie is still in the house. Audrey had a baby girl on Sun. Shirley Marguerite, and three weeks ago Sun, her husband was rushed to the Hospital, and operated on for Ruptured Appendix. Irvin Perkins have a young son, born on Good Friday. Alma Kallflusch, who use [used ?] to be Walker was operated on for appendix about a month ago, so everyone has their troubles. The Ayer Family took a motor trip to St John New Brunswick at Easter, were gone ten days, Olive Schweiber came down for three days and stayed with me otherwise I was alone. Bessie is to Graduate the twenty first of this month. The folks at home have Victor Willis working for them. I now belong to a "Hawaian and Spanish Troupe" of seven, we all enjoy it very much, have been at it for three weeks. Jean & Flora have gone home for the summer, as the Dr. [Doctor ?] ordered Mrs McLeod not to go in the store The rest of the bunch are about the same Ruby, Miss Thomas & I were home for the twenty fourth. This is a hurried letter, but must close, write if you have time your friend Ileen [Eileen ?] Word count: 397 |
