Transcript | B'ham [Birmingham?] Aug 1st 1889 Dear Sister:- I only received your letter Tuesday night but I thought if I wrote right away that you would think that I had reformed. you spoke of your missing some faces at church but I don't know who misses them more than me it is so different having meeting in the after noon, prayer- meeting Tuesday nights and everything so different. Isn't it funny that our folks have a prayer meeting on the same night as the one at our church and neither one knew about the other changing. Jennie & I got our letters at the same time and so if I write before Jenny you must give me credit for it as I have been so neglectfull [neglectful?] but I do not have the time I have letters that I received at Christmas time that have never been answered but I will answer them some time. You spoke about never going out alone any more I hope you do not have one fel--- [fellow?] in the kitchen and one in the sitting room. I have had my picture taken and will send you one so you can look at me once in a while if you don't come to see me. Well it is sunday morning the first chance I have had to finish this letter so you can see how much time I have. I expect to go to church this after noon was at Covenent [covenant?] meeting yesterday it was just a month .... |
