Transcript | NATHAN BELCHER, ATTORNEY AND COUNSELOR-AT-LAW, NEW LONDON CITY NATIONAL BANK BUILDING, NEW LONDON, CONN. February 27, 1920. Messrs. Joshua E. Peel & Son, Solicitors, English Street, Armagh, Ireland. Gentlemen:- In re:- Estate Martha Smith, deceased. Further reply to your letter of December 15th. I have delayed going to see Mr. Case because the snow storms have rendered it rather difficult to reach his home. I went to Norwich yesterday, however, and examined the Probate Records and went out and had a talk with Mr. Case. Miss Smith left $18,526.37. Mr. Case appears to be entirely competent and to be doing his best to ascertain Miss Smith's heirs. He advises me that he has been unable, so far, to locate the heirs on the maternal side. Any information which you could secure tracing the movements of James Smith from the time he left Ireland would undoubtedly be of assistance. It appears that Miss Smith's mother's maiden name was Jane Ray. Mr. Case tells me that he has been unable to secure any information along this line from Mrs. George or the other Smith heirs. It is of course impossible for him to make a distribution until it is satisfactorily established that there are no relatives on the maternal side to be included. Enclosed I send you power of attorney to be signed by client. I have entered in the Court as representing her. Yours very truly, Nathan Belcher Enc.l. |
