Transcript | L. W. KELLEY [Kelly?], Attorney at Law, 504 Sears Building, Tel. 2492, Boston. Boston, Dec. 5th, 1899. Mrs. Margaret McQuade, c/o Rev. D. Gormill, C.C., Poyntz-pass, Co.Armagh, Ireland. Dear Madam,- Your letter of Nov. 20th duly received, and in reply would say that I have made several inquiries and I find that your sister, Mary Ann Strain, died, leaving property in the State of Ohio. She also left a will, bequeathing to you and your brother an annuity of ten pounds. The estate has been settled and there is some property left in the hands of the Executor, by which this annuity is to be paid from. I have tried very hard to make a settlement with the Executor, and they claim that it takes about the money which they receive from this property to keep the property in repair, and as soon as they can get hold of any money they will forward the same to you. You say in your letter that a Miss Slavin, of Medford, Mass. [Massachusetts?] has sent to Father Gormill a check for $50.00. It will be all right for you to receive that money and sign the within receipt, which I send you, and forward the same to Miss Slavin. I wish, in your next letter, you would give me the address of this Miss Slavin, that I may write to her and find out what I can in regard to the settlement of your sister's estate. Hoping you will answer this letter at once, I am, Yours truly, L. W. Kelley [Kelly?]. |
