Dear Mrs Corbitt
I recd [received?] your welcome letter to me it has gladend [gladdened?]
me to hear from you and your familey [family?] and Sam I
was cast down thinking about Sam but your letter has revived me I hope
you will rite [write?] often to me and let me kno [know?] how you are
geting [getting?] along how babey [baby?] is I am glad to hear that it
is a fine Child dont think to mutch [much?] about it for fear it would
be taken away from you
Contentment in this life with good health and the love of God in the
heart is a great gift and a blessing may god give it to you and your
familey [family?] I will send the daughter a book the first time I am in
Derrey [Derry?] I think it will be the Tales of a grandfather I kno [know?]
it will be interesting to a grand daughter [granddaughter?] we had a
verey [very?] cold winter but the summer is good the crops are good and
will be Earley [Early?] I was over in the forge last night the [they?] got
a letter from you the next day that I got mine
