[California?] Jan. 2. 1919 [beneath illustration of company's premises] DANIEL McPEAK VICE-PRESIDENT & CASHIER Mr R Carson Dear Sir I wish to thank you for your letter it was kind of you to remember me at this time the sympathy and kindness of our friends has been a great help to us all at this time My wife enjoyed life in this country very much her family being grown up so that she had more leisure, and most of them in this part of the country. We have 13 grandchildren around here We are all very happy that this terrible war is over and that men at war can return to their homes and families My young son was 12 months in the Aviation service in this country and was about ready to go over sea which we are all glad he had not to do. I would like to hear from you on the present Political aspects in Ireland as I see a number of men connected with the Sinn Fein Movement and I cannot understand the circumstances drove them into it, except it was the old way of never doing anything at the right time Again thanking you sincerely D McPeak [Daniel McPeak?] Words : 188 |
