| Transcript | New Vernon July the 30th 1863 Dear Margret ann I have long waited for a letter from you I wroat [wrote?] un [in?] Aprile [April?] But has got no answer yet I hope these lines will find you all in good health I cant [boast?] much of my health yet my jaw is still ruining and pieces of boan [bone?] coming out of it I have got some odds of fifty pieces of boan [bone?] out of it but it will not get better to all the little pieces is out I intend going out west in the better part of october or the beginning of november to take up my farm and live in it I promised to send you any likeness in this letter I got it taken in my every Day close [clothes?] I hadent [had not?] a Chance any other time I will send it with this give my respects to your mother and father and all your sisters and brother and also to aunt jane and Bitty I have verry [very?] little news to right only that the Rebal [Rebel?] army has got well whiped [whipped?] this while our armey [army?] has Defeated them at every point I think the war is nearly over now the Irish papist has raised a great roit [riot?] in new york and burned down niger [nigger?] houses and the poor nigers [niggers?] in them there was a great many killed and a great Deal of property Destroyed the papers estimate the loss a from eight to nine milion [million?] of Dollars it has [piped?] of popery in america a if this warr [war?] was over these quarters will not be very plesant [pleasant?] and I wish the were all sent out of this Country for the Cant be satisfied in any Country the are in wright [write?] as soon as this goes to hand I will have time to have a letter from you before I start west if you write soon I will ad [add?] no more But I remain your Affectionate uncle William McSparron Direct to New Vernon Mercer Co [County?] Pensylvennia [Pennsylvania?] in Care of James Moore and wright [write?] soon |
