Ridenour, Prop'r [Proprietor?] Lancaster, Pa [Pennsylvania?] 12/19/1898 [19 December 1898?] Dear Sir Will you kindly let me know if you can borrow about œ80 or œ90 to pay John McClelland (Canary) [sic?] the balance which I owe him, he agreed at the time to leave œ100 at 6 per cent I was to pay it to him two years from Feb next but he wrote me that he is very much in need of the money. My brother will call and state to you how much money he holds. of mine then you will know exactly how much I will require I would like to have the privilege of paying on the net profits of my farm each year on a/c [account?] of note.
