Mobile April 18th 1837
Dear Unkle [Uncle?]
I write these few lines to let you know that I am well
and that my father and family was well when I heard from
them Last which was only a few weeks ago he has settled in
the State of Indiana near Louisvill [Louisville?] if I am
well to this time next year I am coming over to see you all
and the buisness [business?] concirning [concerning?] Robert
Smiths Goods I will make it all right [alright?] when I come
over I never recied [received?] any fair Settlement from the
man that took the goods belonging to Brother and Cousin
Robert but I would rather be at the Loss of all them that any
person Should be at any loss through any thing that was left
for me to transact but it Shall be all right [alright?] I am
about to leave for N Orleans [New Orleans?] and very little
time to Wright [write?] the Beare [Bearer?] of this can give
you all the particulars about me and I Remain Your affectionate
