Transcript | Otowa [Ottawa?] Sept 27 1875 My Dear Father I received your Letters today & was glad to hear that you were all well thanks be to God for all his mercies to us all I am in good health at present better this Summer than I have been since come to Cannada [Canada?] times is verry [very?] dull here and no prospect of a change for the better I am in work for the present but does not know when I may change I am working for a Contractor & his job is neely [nearly?] finneshed [finished?] at present he has some other works upon hands but I would not work at them he spoke to me the other day about them I told him I wouldent [wouldn't?] at them he said that he thought he could get me a job with a nother [another?] man I said I was mutch [much?] obleged [obliged?] to him but I wasent [wasn't?] but I woud [would?] get ennough [enough?] of work the man that I was with last Summer has been at me twice to go back the Sone [Son?] came to me about a fortnight a go upon the Street & wanted me to go back I said I dident [didn't?] think I would go up again when he was gowing [going?] away he said that the [they?] werent [weren't?] Scarce of men but he would been if I had went back when you write let me know how Alex Erskin is You never mention Ann thing [anything?] about Bess [McSparron?] Or Anny [Any?] of the [Agivey?] People I have now newes [news?] to write I am always [stained] that you and [stained] people is well I am [Boarding?] Miss Griffins whair [where?] I was last winter I received A Janes Letter Last week but hasent [have not?] written her yet but will some time this week if I Shouldent [shouldn't?] write you for some thime [time?] you nead [need?] not feel uneasy for if I change I will not write to I get setteled [settled?] I may not change for some time when you write Adress [Address?] for me at Mrs Greffins [Griffins?] Saint Andrew's Street Ottawa I would have sent you some money Onely [Only?] I have some fears for this winter last week there was four inches of snow upon the rode [road?] abou [about?] 20 miles from this town I got no paper allong [along?] with [Better?] Hoping that you are all [stained] you may live long to write I Remain You [Your?] Affectionate Son John Moon |
