Transcript | Portadown 21st Sep [September?] 1854 Dear Joseph, I duly received your last and was sorry you were not able to carry out your intention in landing a remitance [remmitance?] as I am badly off. I will have large payments to make on the 4th November perhaps you will be able to accomplish your purpose by that time and let us have the proceeds of those goods, the loss and interest on the amt [amount?] so long is very painful to us just now. I certainly would not have thought of sending any more of the first transaction only that you lost by them and wished to have something respectable that the commission would pay your loss and I selected these as they were the only things that paid any thing before. Wm [William?] has the same class of goods sold in New York at 25 to 30 %. |
