Transcript | Dear Joseph I have re'd [received?] your [favour?] of 7th Inst and [---?] [contestants?] owing to a variety of circumstances I have been [-------?] [something?] [---?] [good?] for the fall as I intended [one?] is I have not I have not received any thing from Havanah as yet only [import?] of [latex?] and did not like to [-------?] the stock out untill [until?] I had got some funds, especialy [especially?] as the Havanah Shipment was [heavy?], and I may say that I had hoped to have heard from you in that respect long since [then?] but I doubt not you have [----?] [--?] but under all Sircumstances [circumstances?], a quicker [loan?] of the [money?] would [suit?] small [packet?] much better. I am preparing goods for the Spring Trade and will try and have them in time I will of course send you whatever you can as best and quickest but you may I saw some goods sold by auction here some time [since?] that were totally [rotten?] and they brought their original [balance?] but of course this was by mere chance [----?] I much not multiply [----?] about them as you will by this time have deceided what is best and being on the spot will know best what to do. I think you had better realize if you can get any thing worth while for them [Clothes ?] or [tailors?] might buy them for [linings?] Having wrote you [so?] lately on the subject of further shipments I need not now [say?] any thing only prices are advancing here demand very [good?] just now, I am [--?] [----?] some things for Spring and will [write?] you in time, I do assure you I could have dispensed with any loss on these goods at present as I have had to pay the [piper?] [---?] wheir [where?] [but?] [me?] hear about [them?] [soon?] as I am just now hurrying out to help to Barry James Robinson I will not say more only that Wm is on a fair way to the altar of Hymen and I dare say that by this day month Elizabeth will be Mrs Harry Robb of course I mean to say that these wonders are happening in the Montgomery Family Doctor Bamber is still alive but that is all My Family are well much better A J [Bing?] Yours Respectfully Rbt Moore |
