Dear Friend
Miss Weir I got your letter
[torn] [torn] ago and would have
answered but my sister was
very sick when I got it and she
was in bed 3 days when she got
around my Husband was
taken down with a severe pain
in his head and back and
stomach so he was one week in
bed and the Doctor tending him
he is able to be on the lounge
today but pretty weak yet
So my brother and myself
have to attend to business
I feel [Just?] [just?] [for?] am
tired out but I hope my [---- -----?]
for a while anyhow I forgot
to say after you were here the
next week Maggie was sick
all week with croop [croup?] and sore throat
dont [---- ---- ----?] a time of it
but you know we must have a
little trouble once in a while
Mary is getting ready for to go to
Chicago before we go on our
visit to Canada you remember
If you dont go to Ireland we must
have Miss Harrison married this summer
to some rich old fellow so we can visit
her often Mary had a letter from
her the other day she is feeling well
she says washing dishes all the time
[----- ----?] has been pretty
cold here and snowed quite
a bit but today it is raining
how I wish it was spring the
boys was very much disapointed [disappointed?]
when the [they?] came for me and you's
gone Maggie said she hoped
the train would not go and
you would have to come
back but I told her next
time you would stay longer
Well that play aint come
to the Opra [Opera?] since
you were here I will let you
know when it comes so you can go
do you think you could come if you
could not be spared you could come
in the morning like you's [you?] did
and go to Matinee in the [af-------?] [afternoon?]
go back to Pontiac that night
you will please excuse this
scribble as I am in such a hurrie [hurry?]
I wrote it on my knee I am so
hurried the folks all wish to be
remembered to you and of course
James wishes to be remembered
I will let Maggie go out when her
Antie [Auntie?] goes for I know she would enjoy
it I will have to close goody [goodbye?] this time
