Dear Sister Rose,
I received your kind and
long looked for letter on last week & was
glad to hear of you all being in good
health as this leaves us all enjoying
the same at present Thank God. I would
have written to you when I received this
letter only we were so awfully busy & scarcely
ever could find time. The weather here
is getting pretty cool now that is so
the mornings & evenings & then gets a
little warmer in the middle of the day.
Mary & Kate are both in good health
if you dont hurry yourself up Kate will
leave you behind but at any rate dont
despair for you might have a chance
of getting a Yankes as Henry Bradly [Bradley?]
is for going home about about [sic] the
first of next month. I think that
he dont like this country but this
excuse he is taking is that his Aunt
Susan is gone in the mind & that they
wrote for him to go home. James McKy [McKay?]
is doing pretty well now he likes this
Country better than what he did at
first he is in the one place still. Wm
[William?] Murphy is in very good health I saw
him on last week you can tell Rollane
McGill that I gave the letter he gave
to me to Wm [William?] Murphy shortly after I came
here and I dont think that ever he sent
it yet. Lizzie O'Hare was married
on last week & gone to house keeping I think
she will have a pretty hard time of it where
she is going to where there is 4 or 5 men
to attend to she wont have much
time to herself. I saw Thomas West about
two or three weeks ago he was talking about
going home whether he is gone yet or not
I cannot tell. The Fergusons are
all well Willie was home from the
Mountains on Sunday but had to go
back again. I suppose you have all
the harvest cut down but at any rate
you would be able to help them along
after getting the few weeks Idleset.
Let me know how Mrs Stewart is
getting along also Margaret you
can tell them I mentioned them in
the letter. I am glad to hear of
the way Paddy McCartin is getting
along also Kitty & the children.
What is Robert Harvey knocking
about now I suppose is first working
away in the same style. working
on week days & lying in bed on Sundays.
I am glad to hear of Mr Duffy
getting along so well, he is a very nice
man I am sure the folk around there
will like him. also Mary. they are
a very nice pair. How is John
Kelly & the wife getting along.
I suppose Maggie Harvey is disbandoned
out of it long ago. I
havent saw Billy yet nor dont
know what he is about at all.
I hope Barney Pitt & Ellen
are keeping in good health &
minding their schools also John
I think he might write to me very
soon. When you write to me you
might send me your pictures also
Mikes You will excuse this writing
as I am in a hurry I didnt have time
to finish this letter & I had to start
to it on this (Thursday) morning. I
have not got much more to say
in this letter but send my kind love
to Heather, Mother & Bros [Brothers?]
epcepting [expecting?] the same yourself
please write soon & give me all the
particulars no more at present but
Remains your affectionate Brother
E. O'Hanlon
