Transcript | My dear John As Jane Ellen and Margaret have filled the inside of this letter, there only remains the folding for me. Sabbath will be our communion. I expect abr [Abraham?] Johnson from Belfast tonight. I hope you will have opportunities in America of attending on Christian ordinances - and I trust you will regularly embrace them. You have always the throne of grace to go to. A [and?] be regular and earnest in your applications there. Remember us at home. We do not forget you. Mr. Warnock is in his usual health. I see by Mitchell's map of the U.S. that Chicago has 4700 inhabitants and is in Lake Michigan. Indian meal sold in town yesterday at 10/- per Cwt. Some of our farmers who refused 19s.11 per Cwt. for their wheat sold for less than 15 - or have it yet, not now worth 12/-. Harvest will commence in about a week. Yours Truly - John Orr |
