Transcript | Armagh 30th March 1803 My dear Sir I understand by your letter of the 25th that you are to allow McReynolds œ300, & forgive him the three half years Rent, which in point of fact is giving him œ356.17.9 and having now ascertained the exact amount of his debts I propose to arrange as follows:- Sum allowed 356.17.9 Deduct servants wages to be pd [paid?] in full 13.3.0 " Poors Rate 1.5.0 " County [Cess?] 2.4.2 " Costs of [Ejectment?] 3.10.0 12s/6 in the Pound on œ432 due to Sunday Creditors 270.0.0.290.2.2 which leaves for McReynolds & his family œ66.15. It seems that the wife & children are to go to America and he is to remain at home with his mother. A list of the creditors have been shown to him and he acknowledges that the debts are all justly due and I have no doubt the Creditors will be thankful to get 12/6 in the pound on their several claims. - Or we might give the creditors 10s/- instead of 12s/6p in the pound which would make the residue œ120 for McReynold & his family. By this arrangement the years rent to May would be put down to the executors as a bad debt and the half year to yourself. I mentioned the matter to Mr Irvine and he saw no objection to it. McIntyre has got full posession of the land. I have sent the Albion Co payment of their account. Have you any valuation of the Coach, Carpet, and other things which you mention, or must I get them valued. Believe me Yours very faithfully W. [William?] Paton P.S. You have not said anything about the Laborers Cottages of [Dunbar?] Esq |
