Transcript | [fragment] for a very nice Marbel [Marble?] pillar to be Set in the Center of a lot him and I bought the Time our Children died it is 21 feet by 12 feet it Cost us 15 dollars we have deed of it forever Recorded in County Recordes [Records?] last Spring I put a very nice railing around the whole lot at my own expense, when I paid the legatees there[their?] share of thr pe_ce_el [?] property I sugested [suggested?] to each of them that we Should all join and put up a deacent [decent?] pillar to which the [they?] all willingly agreed So it is now a getting nedy [ready?] and will be up in The Course of a few days it will be four Square of the die and will have W Porter on the South Baise [Base?] in reased [raised?] letters & R Porter on the North Base in reased [raised?] letters the Square to East will be for his inscriptions and the Square to the West will be for our family we had Joseph & Mrs Bicrett [?] here for a week 2 weekes [weeks?] ago the [they?] are all well and doing well Joseph is in Russels in Cleveland Ohio I have his Farm Rented he has to pay the Widow 50 dollars a year off it while She lives She has the Rentes [Rents?] of all the Town Property while She lives and a fine House in Chebanse to live in She is well lives all alone, Mrs Joseph Porter is well his Son James is to be maried [married?] early next month to a girl in Chebanse Ann is Talking of going on a visit to See you all before long but has not Set the Time, we are all well in our famely [family?] at present but about 2 weeks I ago I was not very well I Thought I never would be well again owing to a Small breach in my Belly I felt very bad for few days but is now got pretty well Thank God is still #PAGE 2 able to do _our [your?] own work is Comencing [Commenceing?] to build a new Barn 30 feet by 50 feet 2 Story high I hoping This will find you and all our friends there in the enjoyment of good health with prosperity united I remain your Affectenate [Affectionate?] Brother R S Porter |
