My Dear Mother
It is now a month
since, or rather a fortnight I wrote to
you and I am afraid that it will
not be a very long letter this time
as on wednesday since I had
the misfortune to hurt my
hand or rather my first finger
on my right hand so that although
I can work and be able to
write so until it gets better you
need not expect a long letter for
some time, I will I am afraid
[that?] I shall love the mail, I
hope that you will write me
a long letter my thoughts that
are at present rambling, and
I can not write
So with love to all
I remain your fond son
R [Richard?] Rothwell
