Transcript | FRANKFORD CHEMICAL WORKS SAVAGE & STOVELL Philadelphia Ap 18 1887 T.F.Armstrong Esq Rush Brook Queenstown Co.Cork Ireland Dear Sir I send you by this mail a photograph from an old picture of the 1st Thos. [Thomas?] Savage, which you will find enclosed, with this letter, also an engraving from a copy of a portrait by Copley (in my possession) of Saml [Samuel?]. Phillips Savage [*] who was a member [*P.R.O.N.I. Ref D 618/233 is copy of lithograph?] of the Board of War during the Revolution of 1773 - I would like Marcus Ward & Co. to see this as they would be interesting and valuable in their Historical & Biographical a/c [account?] of the Savages. The Boston Savages and their descendants would no doubt like to get the book when published so would the sons of Chief Justice [Shaw's?] family - and the [Emory?] family of Boston in fact I think that there are a great many of the many descendants no doubt who would be glad to have the book - they are now in Virginia, North Carolina, & [Tennessee?] & Michigan - [when?] you [receive?] this. I should like to hear if this reaches you safely and in good order Yours Truly J. R. Savage |
