Transcript | M.Savage 195 Fifteenth st address Detroit Mich U. S. A. Detroit Jan 18th 1893 Well Annie you will think by this time I have forgotten you We are all well at present Hoping this will find you all well. We arrived home Xmas eve We had a lovely passage. We were 1 week coming from New York. We stoped [stopped?] visiting friends in New York & Jersey & in Buffalo & in Pittsburgh The [They?] thought we were going to stay altogether we sailed on the 10th of Dec John & Gelean & the rest of the folks were at the train. They were all greatly dissipointed [disappointed?] when you did not come. And of course next day Tommy & Bob O.Brien were here to see you but no Annie They are to have another great day when you come & Pa was so lonesome. I was not one bit sea-sick. We had a different stewardess a Mrs Willimson [Williamson?] Joe or Dan or Napolean [Napoleon?] were not on Donald was in the steerage. Miss Harrison & Miss Best were in a short time ago Miss H [Harrison?] thinks you will never be here They were in about 2 weeks before I came home Lizzie is moved unto 15th street its a very nice house You will need to hurry and come as soon as you can They will not let any more folks come that has not been in the country before Its very cold here just now and lots of snow all the time. They all say times is going to be good next year. John is anxiously waiting for your coming There was a young man came out with us he is here. Theresa Smith is to be married in 2 weeks to a young man on the cars the name of Wagoner. Perhaps you will be marring [marrying?] before you come. How is Willie How is your sister & baby & husband. How is your mother & all the folks at home I suppose you are almost froze there. I was so cold all the time. James is well I was so sorry I did not get a bit of [dullies?] I wish you could get a little bit. Annie I wish you could fetch me a moustache cup & saucer for Hugh I fetched one a piece for Gelean & John & Nick I thought I had one for James but they made a mistake putting it up I knew I had none for Hugh I was so sorry & whatever it costs I will pay you or two if it is convenient. We got no blackthorns now be sure & let us know when you are coming so we can meet you we telegraphed to meet us hoping to hear from you soon I remain your friend [M.Savage?] Write soon & send us all the news excuse this scribble from your friend Mary Good bye |
