Transcript | Address M. Lavage 195 15th st Detroit Mich [Michigan?] U.S.A. 1895 March 7th. Detroit Mich [Michigan?] Well Annie Once more I start to write to you I have wrote to you several times but you never answered it, now I am going home again myself and I am going to see you. the first place I am going to after I land is to your place. We often often (sic) talk about you and wonder why you do not write. I have got lots of news to tell you. But will tell you all when I see you I will tell you some. Well Lizzie was very near being a widow, pa was almost gone only for John. He would have chocked [choked?] to death he had been very ill with Kidney trouble he went out and caught cold and spasmodic croup set in he just chocked [choked?] up in about an hour. Untill [until?] he is dead he will never be so near again. He was 5 weeks of [off?] work he is working now this week Well suppose you will be surprised to hear Miss Harrison or Mrs Holsier lives on the old McIlhinney farm back of the building (sic) and has got a young son last August she is just fine and is comfortable and happy Miss Best was in twice lately and Miss Wildman is back again Mrs Brown is left the cottage lives in Detroit Dr Barr is left last August and is in Flint Dr Christian is in his place Dr Mosse [Moss?] is still there yet. There are hardly any of the old attendants there now, I wish you were just here so I could talk to you How are you getting along and how are all your folks How is your sister here in California And how is your Willie This has been a very cold winter here And lots of snow (sic). We did not feel it for Lizzie has a nice warm comfortable 2 storey house she was moved when she came home, James and the boys are all well and as awful as they can be. Johns has another boy 4 boys and one girl Maggie is a big girl now, Lizzie and Pa says when are you coming out. We all join in love to you hoping to see you love from Mary. I almost forgot to say your Tommy McMillan is got married over one year ago to a young widow and lives up Turnbull Ave Bob O'Brien was here last Sunday says Tommy is as happy as he can be now Annie be sure and write as soon as you get this excuse all mistakes good bye |
