Miss weir

Dear friend
you will think we have
forgotten you, But you
will not think so when I
tell you what a time
we have had with
La grippe When your
letter came Mrs McLean
was very ill with the
grip she got over it
And then I was taken
down with it But the
worst with me was the
neuralgia I suffered for
3 days I could not
get it stopped at all
I got the grip stopped
with quinine and
brandy I only had it
bad one day I was
so afraid of a relapse
I was just one day up
out of bed when Lizzie
got a relapse again
and we could hardly
save her life if she had
been one day longer she
would have amonia [pneumonia?]
of the lungs I had to
put hot poultices on her
every ten minutes she
was so weak and so
low she is able to sit
up now but very weak
you would not know her
so if I did not have a
time I often wished I was
out there at Pontiac for a rest I often
thought about you all
I think she will get well
now. The rest are pretty
well how are you all
how are the Drs all
How is every one When
did you hear from Miss
Harrison I only got one
letter from her I think
I had the wrong address
she did not send her address
you tell her when you write to
answer my letter what is
her address I just got a
few minutes to write
can hardly hold the pen
but will do better next
time, How is Miss [Wiliman?]
Best There are a great many
deaths here Maggie says tell
you she wishes her and I were
out there, We are going away
as soon as we can get [ready?]
I am going to Chicago next
month James has none of his
pictures the first
time he gets them I
will make him
keep you one. He
and I are going
to the old country
you and your friend
be ready to go too
excuse this scribble
I will send more news
next time write soon
I had a letter from
Miss McCallum what
a nice one be sure
and write soon
I have to run to Lizzie
love to all remember
me to Dr [Burr?] & Dr [Morse?]
I knew them best and
all the other [friends?] love
write soon Lizzie is
to [too?] sick to say anything
hoping to hear from
you soon I remain
your affectionate
friend Mary
5 [Dalzelle?] St
Detroit
Good [luck?]

excuse this scribble

to yourself I remain your
friend M. Savage
