Dear James:
I received your
letter and it was given to
Nickey to answer, but he
has been kept busy
with the sailing.
The boat is not
in port yet but William's
is tied but for the winter
I had a letter
from Isabella who has
had poor health, her
baby is dead.
I want you
to take Dr. Smyth to see
her and hear his opinion
II
I will pay the cost.

Have you seen Mrs
Crangle or Mrs Coulter
or have you been to Capt. [Captain?]
Wards (?) Have Mrs. Crangle
given you any (boodle) gold?
I have never heard word
about them.
Miss McSea wrote
and told one you are all
well, She sends me a
paper
Remember me to Mr.
and Mrs. McKibben and
Miss Wilson.
I have very good
health and agree with
the climate.
Mrs. W. Shanks has
III
a young daughter.
James McLifford
is coming in to see me
this winter.
Brother William
was not sailing this year
and was out West and
met Mr. Lunning in Kansas
He was away on
a new steamboat to Buffalo
N. Y. [New York?] and at Milwaukee
where he met some of
Aunt Sarah's friends
Cousin Katie is
married to Dr. J. Walsh and
living in Denver Colo. [Colorado?]
I will be glad
to hear how the crops were
and how all my friends
are; Write and tell me
of Isabella's health:

Give my kind love to
Wife and children not forgetting yourself and
all inquiring friends
Your affectionate Mother
