Transcript | July the 20 1880 Cal, Healdsburg, Sonoma County Dear Marget [Margaret?] you will think it strange I did not answer sooner I send you a smawl preasant [small present?] broach [brooch?] and earings [earrings?] I hope you will live long to injoy [enjoy?] them you and Mary Sinclair was my faverites [favourites?] I not saying this before yours [your?] faces it is far behind your backs Mary did not write yet to me it is verry [very?] hot hear [here?] now from sun rise [sunrise?] to sun set [sunset?] and cold at night We had no rain since the 10 of May expects no rain to winter I want to hear what Kind of weather you have if Tullibrick turf was hear [here?] 2 days the [they?] would b [be?] dry We dug the potatoes the 1 of Jun [June?] all kinds of fruit was ripe in Jun [June?] the harvest is near by the children is all well and groying [growing?] tall but not so fat your ant [Aunt?] is well but her hair is getting gray [grey?] She sent this grain to your mama before it would be all gray [grey?] I am allays Kepping [always keeping?] straight myself but James is 6 feet high I wish you to remember me to Mr Ford I am sorry for his trouble Send me a papper [paper?] or [2?] Write soon No more at preasant [present?] but remains affectionate friend Stevenson and ant [Aunt?] |
