Bouligny. P.S. je n'ai pas encore vu Nelly English Translation My darling daughter, I left Biloxi yesterday as I wrote to you I would. I took the two o'clock carriage and was at Anthe's at five. Alice and Nugent came to meet me at the depot. I have dealt with the travel well. I have installed myself here until your arrival. Arthe is very kind to me, I could not think of a better place to stay before you come. I saw the doctor before leaving Biloxi who told me that Alicia still has five or six days before she will be perfectly convalescent. Sep [Jess?] and Carrie can't wait to leave as my departure added a further element of sadness to their holiday. Octavie was much nicer to me this summer than she is usually. I'm happy to know I've only one journey left and that is to meet up with you when you come. My compliments to you on the good time you've been having. I hope your luck continues until your return. Yesterday I dined with David and Mathilda, who is looking very well. Everyone has asked about you with much love. Good-bye my darling, tender kisses to you and my dear little grand daughter. Your mother, O.[Olivier?] Bouligny p.s. I have not yet seen Nelly. |
