Transcript | [---?] [---?] 1879 Dear Brother I send you these few lines letting you know that my health is failing in the first place. I am looseing [losing?] flesh so fast that I am getting weaker. I am 4 stone 6lb lighter these last two years. I was 16 Stone and 6lb two years Since. I am plenty heavy enough yet if I could only stop where I am. Secondly, on the 6th of this month I was operated on for Cancer on the lip. The Doctors ... it is healing so far very well. Therefore under present circumstances I wish you to postpone your intended visit to me until you hear from me again. I always looked forward to that happy time when we should meet. I have none to care for except you and Mary. Mary is keeping house for me these last few years. I should like to leave her independant of James Rodgers Their son Joseph is living ... Dear Brother I was thinking if I did not get better soon that I would send you some money, Say Å“50. Pounds that I have in the Post Office Savings Bank Kilkeel. It would be so much secured.
