Bm[stained] [Ballymoney?] Saturday Afternoon

Dear Mother
I got this cheese from Misses [Ms?] Thomas Lyle
it weighed 15lb and 3/4 and I [it?] was not long
untill [until?] I bled it but whether I struck
the wright vain [right vein?] or not I could not say
but it Did not bleed to what I expected
it would have Done to have looked at
it but the only plan I know to get red [rid?] of it
is to cut large lumps of it at once and
to put every ones share on a plate and
eat hard And you well Can get through
with it that way I think, I kept the
one half of it to my self or as near as I could
Cut it but you can weigh yours and then
wee [we?] can settle the firs [first?] time that I am out
whether it will bee [be?] tomorrow or not I am
not sertain [certain?] as yet, I Jamie
Dies [does?] Cap fits him if not keep it
Clean and I will get it changed your
son with respect John Smith
