Transcript | To:[Smith Family Member?] From:[John Smith?] Bmony [Ballymoney?] Tuesday I received A very useless letter from you I mean that it was very little use for Any of them to tell me of what the [They?] would Doo [Do?] or what I would Doo [Do?] I have still conducted my Affairs As yet that I still made the [----?] build the Ditch And I hope to Always act As sutch [such?] Although A little limited At present I hope that A short time will bring me to bee [be?] fit to Clear my head of Debt I long to see that time And I hope it will Arrive before nine Months, I could take a speedier plan of it but never was so foolish in being hastey [hasty?] in A case of that kind, it stired [stirred?] me up A little just As I received your note to see Wm [William?] John Hamill formerly of islands passing to his fathers with 6 or eight hundred pounds beside him who was yesterday As poor As my self I mean he has got the Mistress and I Assure you that I have not seen A more respectable Appearance of the kind in my whole lifetime you perhaps may hear of me going through the same [----?] before long if I should not get so much [much?] money I will still get As mutch [much?] As any of the patterns that have been set to me this I could Doo [Do?] if I chose very soon but have not Altogether made up my own mind on that subject As yet it is to one that I am shure [sure?] that you would not think so that you need not bee [be?] forming any rang [strange?] notions She is A sweet young creature, I will feel mutch [much?] oblidged [obliged?] to you to come in on the Market Day as I hope that we will have need of you And you will Doo [Do?] After that As I know that the [they?] far beat me in planning but if it were left to them, Always it would bee [be?] poorly managed I only received two letters this Day before yours soliciting me to go home on thursday evening And one A few days before on the same subject your son John Smith |
