Transcript | Mr James Smyth Moycraig Near Dervock County Antrim Ireland Liverpool Ship Letter Philadelphia March 31 1837 Dear Robert I red [read?] your letter of Decr [December?] 29 on the 26 first and note its contents you wish to Come to this country & say that your mother thinks you to [too?] young but iff [if?] you want to come you are old enough the sooner you come the better you are'not Coming to strangers if you are coming to a strange country you will come to the best home you ever had and if you are comming [coming?] I wish you to come in the last vessel that will sail from Londonderry belonging to James Corscaden [Corscadden?] as I have payed [paid?] your passage & sent you two pound for poc [pocket?] money which James Corscaden [Corscaden?] will [stained?] on presenting this. Letter to him & if you do not Come you will send this Back the firs [first?] opportenaty [opportunity?] bring some oat meal with you & 1 Irish cheese Do not neglect to come as soon as you can on rect [receipt?] of this as I have a Situation waiten [waiting?] on you give my Love to all my friends I hav [have?] to Send this by Liverpool as there is no conveyance sentt [sent?] to Ireland I remain your affectionate [--nch?] Wm [William?] Smith |
