Dear Brother
Your last letter
arrived May 28th, we can learn
from it, that there is nothing
in your head but education
I suppose the more you have
you will want the more"
John will answer next week
he will tell you what he thinks
about it,. and as for Mary she
is anxious to get away from here
but she is troubled to know
what would fit her best
I believe that its all lazy
people that starts first for Mary
is not willing to do anything in
the house and John hates to work
at anything but he would be a
sportsman without any trouble

[Page 2]
and as for yourself a day or
two was enough at any business
Im afraid if we would all look
out for an easy life., that begging
might be the last of it
you will have a hard weeks work
at the end:.. but if you be
successful it wont do you much
harm
We see by your letter that you
will spend July 12th studying it
will be a quiet enough way to spend it
but you can’t help it this time
The band was gathered on
Friday night for the first time
they have decided to get a new
brass drum for the twelfth
There is no certainty where they
will be yet they are trying to bring
the Newtownstewart men up and
the Strabane men are for Donegal
so its not known where they will
be

[Page 3]
There is a great excursion of
Good Templars to Warrenpoint
on the 8th inst tickets half acrown
from N T Stewart [Newtownstewart?]
it is expected to be worth going Mr
A Duncan is selling tickets and likely
they are all going
William Eliza and me is for
Derry on the 9th an excursion of
Protestants to the Cathedral
William was in Gortin fair
and Aunt gave him the tickets
only costs 1s up and down so we
will see the city for nothing
and might not get a chance again
To morrow is Gortin P.S
Father and John will attend
you will get a full account next
week. Tommy McFarland nor
M Warnock is not summoned
as witnesses yet they have kept
out of the way for so far, A
Duncan got a cross-summons for
John yesterday

[Written upside down on Page 2]
