Dear Brother
I have just finished
a letter to John so as I am on
holidays I thought I had better
write to all my friends
I came over here on Tuesday
there was a confirmation of
young people in the church so
I thought I would see what it
was like but I need not tell
you I suppose.
We had a letter from John Tue
Tom came over in the evg [evening?]
so he had it with him I see by it.
John starts work in Windsor well he has
pretty good pay for a start

[page 2]

he laments about the letter
delivery now we are ahead of
you in that as we get them
left inside the house now.
The weather is wet this last
while but we had fine warm
days before that the turf is
pretty near all cut work is still
going on.
Mr and Mrs Willoughby have gone to
live in the Old Rectory
left here so Uncle's ones has
more room to themselves now [sic]
Dr Given has gone to Belfast
That’s how they got the house
again. The creamery is in
full bloom [sic] here I am going

[page 3]

to get up tomorrow morning
and go out to see them churn.
the manager is a Mr Guy very
tall young man he is furnishing
a house going to get married
in July I forget where he is from
Mr Myles the teacher here, is having
a new residence put up both
he and Mrs Myles are teaching
in Gortin so it will be [convenient?]
for them besides going down
to Liscable [Liscabble?] Lizzie is getting
very tall I am sure you will
hardly know her John said you were
thinking of coming home
I doubt this year won't be any
use. Another member of the
Lodge has passed away

[page 4]

Alex McKelvey he died three
weeks ago tomorrow he was
one that was liked by all
1 o’clock
I will finish this Maggie and I
was [sic] out for a walk saw the
house James Moore Hamilton died
in, also the one Lizzie McClelland
(his wife) now Mrs Ballantine
lives in. Since I wrote to you I was
with Dr Thompson twice, last Saturday
he said I would be alright through time
I am to lift nothing heavy so I have
done nothing this last month but I
dont feel better yet.
Mother is thinking of writing to
you when your salary is so large
now she thinks you could spare
her some They are all well at home
Dr Evans and two other men were in
town Tue evg [evening?] on a motor
