Detroit Mrs Orton [Stamped] PLUMBRIDGE A JA 14 03 [ESSEX?] JA 26 03 ONT. Letter 1 [Page 1] Castledamph Jan 14th 1903 Dear Brother & Sister Just a few lines to tell you John Chars. [Charles?] met with a rather bad accident on Friday morning he was sent to clear of [off?] some snow that had dammed up between two roofs & was coming down on the planning [planeing?] machine he had a foot on each roof & driving the snow before him when he stepped on the glass & fell through [Page 2] We got word on Sat morn [morning?] so Wm [William?] and Father went as quick as possible but they would not get speaking much to him. Wm [William?] & Davie and I went in yest [yesterday?] so we got staying near two hours he is improving well we had a letter from him yest [yesterday?] so I will send it to you but you may not be able to make it out he is in Lifford Infirmary he could not be in a better place nor better attended he had a very narrow escape from death but I hope he gets on alright Good bye Liza [Not on Page 1] We got this other letter yest [yesterday?] from Jerry Reid he has a House in Lifford & he will write every day |
