I am somewhat surprised to hear of William and Alex. Houston departure from Eden, I am sure they will be missed in many places, Eden will not seem the same now, I would not expect anything else but that both of them will be homesick in their new places. 2 This is another proof that, happiness does not follow those who have plenty of money. So this should not be the only aim in life, It seemed to me when I see Eden & Castledamph again that they will not seem the same, as there are so many changes taking place and meeting these all at one time, it will seem like a new place except for the natural surroundings, I sent you a paper last week containing accounts of the Queens Birthday celebration and also of the Annual Session of the Grand Orange Lodge and British America. I was in Windsor on the 24th and stayed over all night, The next day was the first day of the G.L.O.L. meeting so I went to it & had the pleasure of meeting Clarke Wallace, Birmingham, and other [prominent?] [orangemen?], |
