| Transcript | [Belmore?] March 15/87 My dear cousin Annie It is with love that I now sit down to write you a few lines to let you know that I am still in the land of the living enjoying good health at preasant [present?] and also the rest of the household. Annie I am [surprised?] and astonished at you not trying to be as good as [your?] [word?] I had thought you had [left] [the?] country but herd (sic) that you [faded] not [torn] long time. You will think it worthy of answering also when you write let me know how my Friend Mr [Virtue?] is or if he is married yet. Miss Taylor has been giving me my share of her love for me she sent a letter to my mother [last] [Summer?] and gave me a setting out but she wrote to the wrong person that time.
